About Us
C&E Farms was established in 1986 by Phil Colson and Lester Erlemeier in Cheriton, Virginia. These two men were the pioneers of hydro-cooling green beans, setting a new industry standard. Their innovation, along with a dedication to quality and service, have made Red Barn Label beans a top choice.

C&E Farms processes more than 750,000 bushels of beans annually off of 5,000 acres. Our territory ranges from Florida to Pennsylvania, with packing facilities in Cheriton, Virginia and Parrish, Florida.
In Memory of Phillip R. Colson of Eastville, VA who passed away February 14, 2013. He was the former president of C&E Farms. He is survied by his wife Dorotha Colson; two sons; Bob Colson and wife Sarah, Mark Colson and wife Susie, two daughters; Donna Colson and Denise Hutchinson and husband David. He was grandfather of 5 and great-grandfather of 4.

Alan Jones, an agent and grower for C&E Farms, was recently recognized by The Fertilizer Institute as a 4R Advocate. 4R stands for using the right source of fertiziler, at the right rate, during the right time, on the right place. We commend Alan's efforts of promoting these best management practices on the farm. C&E is proud to be partnered with growers who strive to be good stewards of the land by preserving our environment and the way of life of the American farmer.
